A beautifully illustrated American edition of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays. It features nearly two dozen engraved silhouettes designed by German artist Paul Konewka (1841–1871). This copy survives in fine condition in what is likely the publisher’s deluxe full morocco binding. With a warm contemporaneous gift inscription ‘John B. Yale, from his Mother, Christmas 1870’.
